Palm Sunday
This past week Mohave County had its first confirmed case of COVID-19. That quickly spread to 6 cases as of this morning in Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City and Kingman.
We are hesitant to return to service while the disease is on the upswing in our region, and we want to hear the recommendations that come at the end of 15 Days to Stop the Spread from the presidents task force. For these reasons we have made the decision to stay on restricted services one more week, meaning that we are still encouraging people to worship at home on Palm Sunday, April 5.
This, of course, brings us up to one week from Easter. It is very hard to have such a big day sitting in uncertainty. It might help a little that we can announce the Easter SonRise Service will take place at the normal time. It is very likely that it will be worshipping in your cars, drive in movie style, but since this allows us to stay ‘socially distanced’, it is a viable option. In regards to normal services later in the morning, we will make an announcement as soon as possible.
