What to expect
When you arrive, you will find a congregation of caring people. The large building out back is our worship area, this also used for fellowship and recreation.
If you have children four and below you may wish to leave them in the nursery. But if you are more comfortable keeping them with you, that is okay too. The nursery is through the red doors on the front of the buildings, then to your right when inside. If you leave children be sure to meet the worker so they can explain the call system and sign in / out procedures.
You will probably be approached by a greeter in the hall who will give you a visitor packet, and answer any questions. In the packet is a visitor card. You should fill out whatever parts you are comfortable with, and then turn it in by dropping it in the offering plate. Even if you only put initials on the visitor card, it will help us by having a record of how many visitors we get each week.
During the service we will have a time for visitors to introduce themselves. If this makes you uncomfortable, you do not have to participate. But the advantage is that the church gets to know you quicker, and you become one of us quicker.
There will be mix of music, some traditional and some mild contemporary. But we often mix up what we do and it could include anything from a very traditional responsive reading to a very non-traditional skit.
Before the sermon we will have a time for the children up to sixth grade to come forward and interact with the pastor. Some days they are quiet and shy. But quite often they are rowdy and give the pastor a run for his money.
At the end of the sermon there will be an intentional decision time. If you have a decision you want to make, you may come forward during this time. Typical decisions are becoming a Christian, seeking baptism, joining the church, or whatever else God has laid on your heart. There is no pressure to make any decision, unless you feel God leading you to do so.
